We’re pleased to share that H2GLASS was featured in a webinar hosted by the Clean Hydrogen Mission and Olade, where our Project Coordinator, Chiara Caccamo, presented the project’s goals, progress, and contributions to Europe’s hydrogen transition.
The webinar, hosted last week by Olade as part of the global Mission Innovation initiative, brought together leading voices from industry, research, and policy to showcase innovative projects advancing clean hydrogen technologies around the world.
Representing H2GLASS, Chiara Caccamo introduced how our project is tackling one of the biggest challenges in energy-intensive industries: decarbonizing glass production through hydrogen combustion. In her presentation, she highlighted:
- The vision of demonstrating 100% hydrogen combustion in glass furnaces at industrial scale
- The unique cross-sectoral collaboration of 23 partners across 8 countries including 5 industrial demonstrators as well as one replicability demonstrator
- How H2GLASS aligns with both EU climate goals and global hydrogen innovation roadmaps
“Being part of the Clean Hydrogen Mission dialogue is a key opportunity to position glass at the center of the hydrogen transition,” said Chiara. “H2GLASS is not just a technological project—it’s a demonstration of what’s possible when industry and research come together to rethink energy use in heavy manufacturing.”
This presentation not only raised the profile of the H2GLASS initiative within the international hydrogen community, but also reinforced the relevance of glass as a strategic sector in the path toward industrial decarbonisation.
A summary of the webinar will be made available soon.
We thank Mission Innovation and the Clean Hydrogen Mission for the opportunity to contribute, and we look forward to further global dialogue on advancing clean hydrogen technologies.
