Meet the People Powering the Hydrogen Transition in the Glass Industry
First episode features Project Coordinator Chiara Caccamo introducing the project vision and impact
We are pleased to launch a new video series that highlights the people and work behind the H2GLASS project. In this series, the leaders of each Work Package introduce their specific areas of focus, providing insights into how their work contributes to the overall goal of enabling hydrogen combustion in glass manufacturing at an industrial scale.
The first episode features our Project Coordinator, Chiara Caccamo, who offers an overview of the project’s purpose, ambitions, and relevance. As she explains, the glass industry is among the most energy-intensive sectors in Europe, and H2GLASS aims to demonstrate how hydrogen can replace fossil fuels to reduce CO₂ emissions significantly.
Funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme, H2GLASS brings together 23 partners from 8 countries, including research institutions, industry leaders, and technology providers. The project focuses on the development and demonstration of hydrogen combustion systems, process integration, and digital tools for monitoring and optimization — all tailored to the specific needs of the glass sector.
